A lot of detail can be seen of the whare whakairo. There are also two scenes of a man addressing a gathering near a memorial to Abel Tasman on which the inscription reads "Abel Tasman Dutch navigator voyaged West Coast 13th December 1642". Photographed by George Leslie Adkin on 26 November 1933. Kotahitanga was the name of a meeting house built about 1863 at Manakau, a community south of Levin.
