Harding, John Walden, 1877-1953

Son of Rechab Harding (1844-1897); Grandson of John Harding (1820-1899); sheep farmer at Mount Vernon Station, the Harding family property near Waipukurau. Father of Brian Harding. Director and Chairman of Directors of the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Assn.; member of the board for over 50 years, and 33 years as Chairman. Very involved in local affairs, including time as President of the Waipukurau Defence Rifle Club, and Vice-President of the Waipukurau Aero Club.
