Born Scotland, came to New Zealand as a child. Served as a Corporal in the Otago Mounted Rifles, D Squadron, 9th Reinforcements in the First World War (Serial No. 9/2006). Campaigning in Northern France and Northern Africa. Died in 1970 aged 77 years.
