Walker, Hilda, 1911-2002

Teacher and artist. Trained at Canterbury University College School of Art and at Christchurch Teachers Training College as an art specialist. Lived and taught art in Sydney, Holland, Cairo, Egypt, and New Zealand. Painted in England, Holland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Australia and NZ. Exhibited as an artist member of NZ Academy of Fine Arts, Wellington. Represented in collections in NZ and overseas. Her autobiography "Full circle" was published in 1997.

The autobiography was later published as "Full circle" in 1997, by Walker. Researchers are recommended to read the published version, rather than this draft. Comprises three black and white prints taken during World War II by unidentified photographers: -Two of New Zealand officers, both including Hilda Walker.
