Baker, Jan, -1974

Artist. Born in Hawkes Bay. In 1967 participated in a four-man show at the Centre Gallery, Wellington and exhibited in the first Manawatu Contemporary Exhibition. In 1970 she was one of three artists in a group show at the Bett-Duncan Gallery, Wellington, and exhibited regularly with the NZ Academy of Fine Arts. Mrs Baker had a particular interest in the New Zealand bush and made this her particular theme. Represented in collections in New Zealand, Canberra, Japan and United Kingdom. Died in 1974.
