Son of Francis Evenson and Blanche Helena Beamish. New Zealand war correspondent. Wrote letter in 1940 to a Miss Montague regarding phones; signature had 2/Lt alongside. Lieutenant Beamish served with Machine-Gun Battalion in Middle East; official war correspondent, NZEF; later (as civilian) war correspondent for London Exchange Telegraph Agency.
