Heards Limited: Heards chocolate raisins; milk chocolate raisins, 4 1/2 ozs [Pink packe...

Date: 1960-1974

From: [Ephemera and packaging found under the seats of the Grand Circle, St James Theatre Wellington, at the time of refurbishment in 1997]

By: Heards Limited

Reference: Eph-F-THEATRE-1960/1974-01

Description: Pink packet for a 4 1/2 ounce packet of chocolate-covered raisins. One side shows an illustration of a "girl" peanut in a stripe sunhat, striped skirt and sunglasses, carrying a basket of grapes. The other side shows a scattering of chocolate-coated raisins. Date is an estimate based on the "retro" style of the illustration. Researcher Darian Zam (in an email 14 November 2018), states: "I know these boxes were still in use in the early 1970s, because they have been found with caches of late 1960s-early 1970s packaging ephemera. All the packaging was swapped out for new designs about 1975, teeing with major restructure of the business, and when the factory moved from Parnell to more rural Waiuku. My assessment is these were designed and in use in the 1960s. And remained in use until about 1974" Quantity: 1 Other printed ephemera item(s).
