Allan, John Milne, 1882-1964

New Zealand professional photographer. John Milne Allan was born in Dunedin in 1882, son of Alexander and Emily Charlotte Allan, and died in Havelock North in 1964. He trained as a photographer with the Christchurch firm Standish and Preece about 1908 and had his own studios in Timaru, Whanganui and Pahiatua in his working life, retiring to Havelock North in the late 1940s.
