Scott, Robert James, 1869-

Athlete and wrestler, champion wrestler of Australasia in 1910, at that time weighing 14 stone 7 lbs, and being 6 ft 3 inches in height. He was born in Soutland and began wrestling in Gore in 1886. Dunedin champion for 15 years. In 1905 he visited Australia and beat Gunga Brahm, Harry Groth, "Delhi" Neilson. He fought world champion George Hackenschmidt in Wellington on 16 February 1910.
