Also, papers relating to the work of the Service, talks given and meetings attended by Ginette Delmas, together with correspondence leading to the winding up of the service, and her official passport and instructions. Source of title - Supplied by Library The French Press and Information Service, under the Ministere d'Information, set up a New Zealand office in 1945 to provide access to French news, opinion and culture. Description: Poster for an exhibition of opera posters shows a reproduction of the poster for the 1889 production of the opera "Esclarmonde", by Massenet, at the Opera Romanesque de M M Alfred Blau & Louis de Gramont, designed by A.T.G. in 1889. The female figure in the poster is Esclarmonde, empress and sorceress of Byzantium, and wears jewelled robes, and a mitre and white veil on her head. The verso contains an essay and lists the 41 posters on display. The Robert McDougall Art Gallery was exhibiting this collection of posters 14 August - 21 September 1986.
