Description: Photographs of the annual Benson and Hedges, and Smoke Free, Fashion Design Awards from 1970 to 1998. This is part of a larger collection comprising the official records of the annual B&H and later Smokefree Awards for women's and men's fashion. These include entry forms, working papers, programmes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, the re-branding project on the change of sponsorship from Benson and Hedges to Smokefree, and videotapes of the award ceremonies from 1982 to 1998. There are some colour prints for 1987. These increase in number from 1991. 1970 to 1986, and 1988 to 1990 are all black and white prints. Colour transparencies start with 1986 and go through to 1998. Most of the negatives are colour and 95% of these are from the years 1995 and 1998. In terms of numbers, the prints start with two for 1970 and generally increase with over a thousand for 1998. Most of the garments photographed are those which won awards or those which were highly commended. Arrangement: Transparencies housed at PA12-1946 to PA12-2129, PA12-2131 to PA12-2140.
