Born 8 April 1965 in Auckland. New Zealand rugby player, All Black 1987 to 1998. He played for Western Samoa in 1986, and was their coach between 2003 and 2007. Played for Auckland Blues team from 1985, becoming Captain 1997 to 1999. Graduated from Auckland University with BA, MA and Bplan. In 1990 received New Zealand medal for services to the Pacific Island community. He has been given the Samoan matai title of La'auli. Was Rugby World Cup 2011 Ambassador.
