Description: Photographs relating to the New Zealand Folklore Society, and the career of folksinger and folklorist Phil Garland. Most of the images were taken between 1967 and 1970 by Phil Garland and unidentified photographers. Comprises: - Two photograph albums (and many corresponding negatives) relating to fieldwork on the West Coast (1967-1970) and in Otago (1969-1970). Images include historical buildings and mining equipment relating to the 1860s goldrushes, portraits of Garland's informants and of Garland himself.
