Rose, George, 1861-1942

Rose was a Melbourne photographer who spent months touring New Zealand in 1906 and published the resulting stereographs in a series numbered 7000 to 7584. (See Ron Blum, 'George Rose: Australia's master stereographer (Oaklands Park, South Australia: Ron Blum, [ca 2008]); also Anonymous, 'Mount Cook - a delighted photographer', Timaru Herald, (vol 83, no. 12958), 25 April 1906, p 7. Note on back of file print of photograph 1/2-077741 states that George Rose took a series of stereoscopic photos on a trip with Peter Graham (mountaineer).
