In all fifteen islands were visited, eight of them being within the extended boundaries of New Zealand, and the remaining seven belonging to one or other of the adjacent groups - viz., Samoa, Tonga or Friendly Islands, and Fiji. Description: Shows a full length portrait of a man with wrap-around skirt, and necklace of long curved teeth or leaves. Over his right shouder he holds a large club with curved (bladed?) edges. Other warriors stand in a group at the right, and there is a boat in the water at the left. Plate 206 in Domeny de Rienzi's book. In the French edition, Danvin is inscribed as the copyist, and Truch as the engraver. Previous published image appears in J S C Dumont d'Urville's "Voyage de ... l'Astrolabe ..."
