Cooper, Peter, 1918-2004

New Zealand pianist, renowned internationally; born 16 May 1918, died 15 Jun 2004, Sydney. Served with the Australian army during World War II and in 1946 had a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London. Toured widely including British Isles, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, North, Central and South America, Russia, India, Ceylon, South and Central Africa, the Far East, West Indies, Australia and New Zealand. Has published several books and drafts of his own life and of a biography of Nicolas Medtner are in his papers.
