Description: Panoramic view of a collection of single-storeyed buildings at the Kaupokonui Dairy Company. Groups of men are standing facing the camera. Sixteen men in the centre of the image are wearing suits, hats and ties, while thirteen others are centre right, most of whom are wearing work overalls. There are seven cars behind the men on the left (several number plates visible: WW333, WW-23, WW245). A small boy is standing by one of the cars, centre left, and there is a boy on a horse, and horses and carts in the middle distance centre left. Houses on a higher level on the far left. Recalls enlistment, time at Awapuni, voyage to Egypt with the Main Body on the 'Arawa'. Reference to German prisoners, church parades and the Salvation Army. Describes training camp at Zeitoun, action at The Virgin's Breast, the Battle of the Wazir, also comments on Cairo and Egypt in general. Recalls Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, the Daisy Patch (the advance on Krithia) and Courtnay's Post. He was wounded in both legs by sniper fire and shipped to Alexandria. Describes conditions in hospital. He was shipped home on the 'Tahiti', describes voyage and reception on arrival, treatment at Hawera Hospital and convalescence at King George V Hospital - Rotorua. Recalls 1918 influenza epidemic. Comments on RSA, Gallipoli Association and Anzac Day Parades. Describes the conditions at Gallipoli.
