Member of Paliament for Waikato 1879-1890; Member Legislative Council 1891-1897. Wrote to Sir Harry Atkinson from Hamilton 1882; wrote from Auckland to Douglas McLean re business he was conducting in Australia; wrote from the Northern Club to Sir John Hall 1882. From 1868 was farming in the Waikato. Died in England. (Scholefield, DNZB, v2.)
