Description: Sketch shows the costume of a wedding director in Germany in about 1800. Three different views are shown: in the left foreground is a three-quarter length view of a man in a collarless charcoal jakcet, open to reveal a red waistcoat, black cravat, and a belt with a large buckle. He holds a stick with a bunch of foliage at the top of it, and there is a sprig of the same foliage in the band of his broad-brimmed black hat. At the right is a full length sketch of the same man, showing his blue leggings, and at centre back a very preliminary outline sketch with the red waistcoat being the only coloured part.
