Description: Photographs of rehearsals for the 1977 Rathkeale College/St Matthew's Collegiate School for Girls production of 'A stab in the dark' (libretto by John Farnsworth ; music by Philip Norman) directed by Philip Norman. Taken by an unknown photographer. The images show the cast singing on a stage in various combinations, dressed as nuns, angels, pirates, and other characters. The sets include a ship and a hall with heraldic shields. An orchestra of young musicians in front of the stage is visible in several photographs, playing string, woodwind, and brass instruments. Some images include Philip Norman conducting or giving directions.
