Description: Copy negative of an oil painting by Gottfried Lindauer, showing Hera te Upokoiri of Ngati Kahungunu, wearing a korowai (tag cloak) and a huia feather in her hair. The negative was made, probably between 1880 and 1900, by Samuel Carnell of Napier. Dated from Carnell's use of the dry plate process later in his career.
