Description: Avery Robertson registered as a nurse at Dunedin Hospital 1934 where she spent 17 years. Recalls time in Pleasant Valley Sanatorium with tuberculosis and Cashmere Sanatorium after a reoccurrence 10 years later. Recalls time nursing at Otaki Sanatorium and later as matron. After retirement worked with with Dame Cecily Pickerill, a plastic surgeon who specialised in hare lips and palates - describes Dr Pickerill's efficiency and training. Refers to Dr Jessie Burnett, the anaesthetist.
