Description: Photographs of art works by the American ceramist Patrick Shia Crabb. Interior of the meeting house Ruatepupuke II, Field Museum, Chicago, USA. Unidentified slides of a line of women on divans on a beach, and people jumping and running. Ceramist Patrick Shia Crabb came to New Zealand in 1992 supported by a travel grant from the Queen Elizabeth II arts council. Meeting house Ruatepupuke II was originally built at Tokomaru Bay, and opened in 1881. It had fallen into disrepair by the late 1880s, was dismantled, sold to a dealer, and purchased by the Field Museum, Chicago, in 1905. Beginning in 1992, the house was reconstructed with the endorsement and assistance of Maori from Tokomaru Bay. It is one of only three meeting houses outside New Zealand.
