Description: Shows woman in lowcut sleeveless top, full skirt, and with headdress of ribbon and veil. This is the third of four miniatures of a family. The dress and hair styles appear much earlier than the date of 1898 (stamped on A-088-043) and seems to date back to the late eighteenth century. May be intended as a sample of the artist's capabilities. On accession, partially mounted in a broked gold window mat with oval windows. The group appeared originally to be mounted in a line for framing, with the grandmother as no. 1 on the left, followed by father, mother and son. Inscriptions: Verso - Henry W. Salmon (printed diagonally in cursive script across the back of each miniature). 3. (Each portrait is numbered in pencil). Quantity: 1 watercolour(s). Description: Twelve photographs record a trip to the villages of Naquelewai and Na Soqo beyond the head waters of the Wainimala River in the highlands of eastern Viti Levu in 1968. There are four views of Wanganui dating fom 1955, and two photographs of "Tiny Town", Tāhunanui, Nelson, dated 1952. Four photographs record the Victoria University capping procession in May 1961. The rest are postcards of Wellington, Hastings, St Matthew's church Auckland, and Māori subjects.
