Description: Opens with views of the site of the Arapuni Hydro scheme and the Paturuahine Gorge which was flooded to form Lake Arapuni. This is followed by images of the repairs to the one of the water channels that took place in 1932. The rest are photographs of the dam at various stages of construction, the dam completed, views of the new lake, water flowing over the spillway, and the Arapuni falls created below the dam Two views of Atiamuri show the Pohaturoa Rock in the background Ten images of Stewart's Claim, a location south of Okarito, show scenic views some with gold dredging equipment lying around, a beach and a river estuary on which is a barge loaded with pipes. Eight images record before and after effects of controlled blasting on a limestone bluff at Cobden Quarry, Greymouth, photographed on the 15th of January, 1932 The last section are views of the construction of the Waitaki Hydro, and the new Lake Waitaki. Description: This album is an anthology of views of Mounts Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe, and Tongariro from 1906 to 1909, and includes a climbing trip up Mount Egmont. Included are details of the mountains such as the Crater Lake, the crater on Mount Ngauruhoe, Ngauruhoe erupting Easter 1909, climbers on the Wangaehu and Mangaehuehu glaciers, views of snow fields and peaks near the summit of Ruapehu, climbing parties, and various lakes in the area. These include Tama Lakes, Lake Rotoaira, and the Blue and Green lakes on Tongariro. There are images of waterfalls on the Makatote River, the Whakapapanui Stream, the Mangawhero River, on a branch of the Mangatoetoenui Stream, and below the Wangaehu Glacier. There are also two views of Ruapehu Hut and views of Ruapehu from the locality of Rangataua, south west of the mountain, described in the album as "Rangataua Bush" and "Rangataua lake". Description: A sketch showing onlooers at the crater lake two days after an eruption, with several descriptive annotations. A note at lower left says that the eruption took place on Thursday 15 March 1906, at 11.45 a.m. Notes indicate the peak Para te Taitonga at top right. At lower right a note says: "Deep holes caused through hot stones falling on ice, sulphur deposit around edges of holes". Other notes indicate: glacier and snow, ice, black deposit, solid ice cliffs, milky grey-blue water, steam amd yellow fumes, black hummocks of deposit 4-5 feet high, lake boiling.
