Kiernander, Adrian, active 1970-2000s

Actor, director and lecturer in drama. He was awarded a New Zealand Opera Society scholarship in 1979, to help him prepare for a position in the newly established National Opera Company. He was Foundation Professor of Theatre Studies at the University of New England. In 2008 he was elected vice-president of the Australia and New Zealand Shakespeare Association, and published articles and books on Shakespeare and the Theatre du Soleil. He was the founder of the Wellington Summer Shakespeare and directed productions in New Zealand and Australia.
