Includes: the Imperial War Conference 1917 (names given on the reverse); Massey with Winston Churchill (then Secretary of State for the Colonies) on the steps of 10 Downing Street in 1921; Lloyd George congratulating Massey on his ten years as Prime Minister in the gardens of Downing Street; a house party with Massey at Stormont Castle on 30th November 1923; the Imperial Economic Conference in London in 1923; the Imperial Conference 1923 (signed by attendees and with the name F D Thomson NZ on the reverse); and two photographs of a meeting outside the site of the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley one with Stevenson, the manager of the Exhibition, explaining plans of the site to other delegates. Description: 1925 certificate based on or orders given to a sailor or sailors on the ship "Golden Hind", captained by Sir Francis Drake. Above the text is an illustrative map of "The world in the time of Cabot", signed MacDonald Gill 1924. Verso is rubber-stamped at the New Zealand section of the British Empire Exhibition, 21 Sep 192[5]. The "Golden Hind" circumnavigated the globe between 1577 and 1580. Quantity: 1 b&w art print(s). Description: An early printed broadside for the Horticultural Society of London, for the forerunner to what is now the annual Chelsea Flower Show. Double-sided flyer listing the categories of plants for which prize medals would be awarded in the 1836 Horticultural Exhibition. One of the categories was "the best single specimen of a New Zealand plant". The text sets out the procedures by which the competition would take place, and instructions for exhibitors, delivery of objects for exhibition, and admission of visitors. Loudon's Gardener's Magazine (vol. 12, 1836) states that the judges were able to award the New Zealand plants in May, Mr. James Young of Epsom taking the New Zealand prize (for Clianthus puniceus). Description: Photograph of the New Zealand Public Relations Council meeting in 1939 at Broadcasting House which included Henry Turner of the New Zealand Fruit Board, George Duncan of the New Zealand Dairy Board, Mr Forsyth of the New Zealand Meat Board, A T Sandford Offical Secretary at New Zealand House and Miss Jean McKenzie. The photograph was taken by the BBC. Two group portraits of those involved in the Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924, one taken outside the New Zealand pavilion at the exhibition and the other in the grounds. Subjects include the Duke of Devonshire (irrespective of an annotation doubting this); Sir James Allen, High Commissioner for New Zealand; Lady Allen; Sir Thomas MacKenzie; H T B Drew, Publicity Officer at New Zealand House; and Sir Alexander Robertson, New Zealand Commissioner to the Empire Exhibition. Description: Edward Seager with a photograph of the New Zealand Court at the 1924 Wembley Exhibition, London. In it can be seen two reconstructions of Moa. Photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer on the 15th of September 1960. Edward Seager was a carpenter-joiner who worked for the Public Works department in 1924. He worked with the Dominion Museum and made the moa reconstructions for the exhibition. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s) 35mm negative strip comprising 3 images.
