Pegler, Enos Silvanus Abijah, 1869-1938

Photographer of Onehunga, Auckland. Born March 1869 in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England. Emigrated to New Zealand with his family on the 'Baron Aberdare', arriving at Auckland on 19 March 1875. Married Eliza Emily Oldham at Tuakau on 15 March 1892. Had studio in Queen Street, Onehunga, 1894-1901; Palmerston North, 1902; Papatoetoe, 1910s. Was a member of a New Zealand bowls team which toured England in 1921. Died 13 October 1938 in Manurewa. It was given to Agnes Eleanor Hickey (née Caulton) when she left New Zealand for England to get married. She returned in 1912.
