Description: Judy Evans was born in Khandallah, Wellington in 1920. Mentions her artistic father, Guy Harding, a cartographer for Lands and Survey Department. Describes working as a ticket writer and display artist, when in 1944 the New Zealand Communist Party assigned Judy and her father the task of painting the murals for their Unity Centre in Cuba Street, Wellington. Mentions that her husband was overseas serving in World War II at the time. Description: Photographs and an accompanying booklet on Tolstoy's life and work to mark the 50th anniversary of his death in 1960. They cover portraits of him as a young man, his birthplace, colleagues and friends, his wife, productions of his plays, title page of Anna Karenina, annotated proofs of his novel The Resurrection, and illustrations from his novels. They are mostly copies of portraits and old photographs but include ones from 1958 of his birthplace museum, university etc. They are numbered and the numbers relate to entries in the booklet.
