Hotunui, active 1470?

Hotunui is a descendant of Hoturoa of the Tainui waka and husband to Mihirawhiti (or Murirawhiti) who both had a son, Marutuahu. Marutuahu became the prominent ancestor of Ngāti Maru. Marutuahu married two sisters and from one of the unions came a son, Whanaunga, the prominent ancestor of Ngāti Whanaunga.
