Over fifty members of the Wellington Football Club were in the Advance Party of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in 1914, and with one exception (C. Trembath), they are shown in the above photograph, taken at the time of the occupation of Samoa. 'A roll call today would not, be answered by all those in the big group, but there are many of them still here to take an interest in the game and their old club.
