Description: Original shipboard diary kept by Edward Turley while aboard the 'City of Dunedin' sailing from England to New Zealand. The diary covers the period 1 October 1871 - 29 December 1871. Most of the last page is missing, and a note has been inserted by Edward's son Edward Turley Jnr which includes details about what was on the missing page. Also includes a bound volume of copies of the original diary pages titled 'Edward Turley's Diary | His Sailing Ship Journey | From England to New Zealand | 1871-1872'. Created circa 2022 by Graham Turley. The first page of the volume shows a copy of a photograph from the wedding of Edward Turley and Sarah Bell, 5 July 1873 on one side, and a copy of a photograph of the 'City of Dunedin' on the reverse.
