Description

Photograph taken by Ivan Sutherland at the opening of Te Hono ki Rarotonga wharenui, Pākirikiri Marae, 25 January 1934. Shows women and men from Rarotonga performing a traditional dance, and playing music. All are dressed in Cook Island Māori costume, including, titi (waist band) and pāreu kiri‘au (hibiscus skirt). Spectators can be seen in the background.
