Photographs relating to the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 taken by Ross Becker on 3 September 2011 in the Lyttelton and New Brighton areas. Includes three aerial views over the Christchurch City, New Brighton coastline, and Waimakariri River. Images taken in Lyttelton show: damaged buildings, churches, pavements, homes, graffiti, signs, and reopened businesses on Winchester Street, Oxford Street, Norwich Quay, London Street, and Sumner Road. Also includes images of the Loons Theatre set for 'Macbeth" on the site of Volcano Cafe, London Street; Gap Filler art installation and park; and people at the Christchurch City Council "Central City Plan Roadshow". Images taken in Heathcote Valley show: damage near the Lyttelton tunnel, temporary sewage pumping station, and closure signs on Bridle Path Road, portaloos, felled trees, and water tank at Heathcote Valley Road School. Images taken near New Brighton show: traffic, containers, and road damage on Main Road, Mount Pleasant, sand volcanoes in Heathcote Estuary, damage and road cones on Bridge Street and Estuary Road, South Brighton, Scarborough suburb on hillside (seen from New Brighton beach), artwork by Peter Donnelly (Sand Dancer) on New Brighton beach, containers along Main Road, Redcliffs, and houses teetering on cliff edge in Kinsey Terrace, and Shag Rock, Sumner.
Arrangement: Files were originally delivered to the Library in a folder called "CEQ 13 - Sept 03-06 2011/Sept 03 - Lyttleton, New Brighton".
