Sound recordings from the 1970s through to 2010s of saxophonist Colin Hemmingsen and other jazz musicians playing as part of various groups. Mostly of live jazz performances but also includes rehearsals, jazz clinics and off-air recordings. Also includes some orchestral and classical chamber works of when with Hemmingsen on bassoon.
Two folders comprise jazz charts. One folder is photocopies of compositions by Mike Nock; the second folder is jazz works by various jazz musicians transcribed by Hemmingsen and others. A third folder contains teaching resources for jazz saxophone.

Colin Hemmingsen is a prominent figure in the jazz and classical music scene in New Zealand. He established the first jazz school in New Zealand, and was the principal bassonist with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra until 1992.
