Description

Includes:

28 March 1904: Postcard showing a photograph of a small girl sitting on a rock, and announcing sales of gloves, knitted golf jerseys, French flannel and Delaine blouses.

28 March 1904: An identical postcard with the image of the small girl reversed.

28 March 1904: Five further postcards with the images of the same girl, announcing special reductions in the glove department. One postcard is annotated in pencil.

1904: Postcard featuring the same girl, advertising a "great summer sale" in the manchester and furnishings departments.

1904: Three further postcards with images of the same girl, advertising "money-saving bargains in every department".

8 September 1904: Postcard shows an embossed nymph seated on the from of a photographic view of the Wanganui River. The verso announces the availability of Spring suitings, and is addressed to W Read esq, 22 Austin Street. Rubber stamp postmark is 8 September 1904.

29 April 1905: Two postcards announcing special bargains in silks and furs. The verso of each postcard show a nymph seated on the front of photographic views of a river and a geyser.

20 February 1906: Four postcards announcing "our first grand display" for autumn and winter. The verso of each card show hand-drawn scenes of a young boy and girl wearing rabbit ears and holding a basket of Easter eggs.

25 October 1907: A further postcard featuring the same children, advertising the arrival of new children's summer clothes to Kirkcaldie & Stains.

1910: Blank postcard, with the verso showing a photograph of the Kirkcaldie & Stains building, captioned "Lambton Quay Wellington, N.Z., looking south". Printed in Saxony ca 1910.
