Photographic postcard shows a large collection of circular tents pitched at Rangiotu for the military training of soldiers for World War I. The verso contains a message from Rifleman E Piner (Edward Piner, a rifleman with B Company of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 1st Battalion) to his sister Ada. He mentions Bill Mass[e]y and Jim Allen as being "just standing up the line now".
