Description: A group of mourners around a canopied bed, where the Virgin's body lies. Angelic figures in clouds in the area above the bed. No. 161 in Hind, Arthur M. A catalogue of Rembrandt's etching. New York, Da Capo Press, 1967. Probably a second or third state. The chair in the right foreground is fully shaded, but there appears to be no light vertical shading in the foremost bedpost, as described for the fourth state by Hind.
