Description

A digital copy of the transcription of George Simpson's pocket diary of brief daily entries about his year on Raoul Island 1940. Describes most aspects of life working as a labourer and living on the island. The document includes a short biography of Simpson and a list of correspondents referred to in the diary. The transcription of the diary was completed by his daughter Judith Perrie and grandson Leon Perrie.
