Facsimile copy of sketch map 'Rough sketch plan of Tauranga District'. "The coast line of the Harbour is a reduction from Captain Heales traverse, the remainder is compiled from personal recollection - James Mackay Junr, Civil Commissioner".
Makes extensive reference to land sales, with purchase price of blocks of land and date noted. Also makes reference to Iwi land ownership and "Native Reserves".
Boundary of Tauranga District is shown with reference to New Zealand Settlements Act 1863.
