Photographs relating to religious author Rita Snowden taken circa 1940s to circa 1950s, by unidentified photographers. Contains informal images showing travel and people.
Three images show street scenes with tudor-style houses and a car. The locations are identified as Wendover and Burford [in England]. Handwriting on the reverse of the images reads "Modestine in Wendover. First day out" and ""Modestine" in Burford. Glos".
One shows Snowden in an unidentified location. She is carrying a camera bag over her shoulder and a large package in her arms. One shows a group in Auckland, possibly at a party. One shows a group of people standing in front of the forum at Pompeii. Snowden, her friend Irene Watts, and other people are identified on the back of the Pompeii image.

Rita Snowden, accompanied by her friend Irene (Rene) Watts, travelled to London in 1937. This was the first of multiple overseas voyages they took together.
