Family photograph album relating to the Shearman family of Wanganui. Contains cabinet card and carte de visite portraits taken circa 1870s-circa 1890s by a range of photographers. Includes a tintype, and two other photographs, of John Shearman, possibly when he was a member of the Armed Constabulary. All other persons unidentified. Compiler of album unidentified.

Provenance: Retrieved from a rubbish bin, by Marie Hickey, during a clean out of a Shearman family home in Wanganui some years ago. Marie Hickey is the cousin of the donor.
John Shearman is Marie Hickey's (cousin of the donor) maternal grandfather.

All items were orginally loose within the Shearman family album. One carte de visite has the following note written on the back "To my dearest friend. M. Redican" (It is unclear whether this message is addressed to or from Maria Redican). Quantity: 18 b&w original photographic print(s) 5 items of ephemera.
