Describes job in Land & Income Tax and how land tax was assessed. Gives reasons for visiting Government Buildings and describes building in detail. Recalls location of Post Office and briefly describes post office. Recalls war service (2NZEF 1942-1946). Mentions appointment to Public Service Commission and in 1957 commencing work at Education Department, Government Buildings. Recalls how office was heated in winter, fire regulations and fire drills, location of tea room and other departments in building at time. Briefly mentions post office boxes.
