Born Wellington, 1902. Gives family background - father was chief petty officer and leading torpedo man for the Navy. Maternal grandfather, William Day, responsible for mining Wellington Harbour. Recalls RMS Olympic and voyage in RMS Queen Elizabeth ca 1945, also mentions RMS Queen Mary and Trans Atlantic Blue Riband.

Joined Levins as Office boy in 1917 and retired as Company Manager after 47 years. Mentions: Sir Ronald Trotter; Everard Weld; Bill Harvey; William Hort Levin; John Duncan.
