- Description
Commentary from the cartoonist says "Winston Peters' suggestion that the National Party have somehow 'used' the public revelation of a 1080 poison threat as a means to derail his lead in the polls is, in itself, a toxic bombshell. If he's right, then one would imagine the fur is really going to fly in the week ahead of the by-election. Cartoon depicts NZ First leader Winston Peter and National Party candidate in the Northland by-election Mark Osborne. Note: the slogan "Vote the Boss, not the Hoss" appeared on a placard supporting Winston Peters. It refers to 'Hoss' Cartwright, a character in the TV series "Bonanza". Mark Osborne has a certain ressemblance to him.
