The New Zealand International Exhibition was held in Hagley Park, Christchurch from 1 November 1906 to 15 April 1907. One of the main attractions were performances by New Zealand's first professional symphony orchestra, conducted by Alfred Hill. This piece of music was composed to commemorate the exhibition.
