Twenty-seven postcards written to and from Holdaway family members, mostly Alan Ernest Holdaway to his sister Mrs Nellie Yuill, during World War One. Images on the postcards include scenes of Europe, England and Egypt.
Also includes postcards to Nellie Yuill from a soldier in World War One named Jack who is possibly a cousin of Nellie, and one postcard from the New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition held in Dunedin in 1925.
