- Description
Head and shoulders portrait photographic print of James Cowan taken circa 1900 by an unidentified photographer. The print is inscribed in Cowan's hand writing: 'Brooding over my woes (and moko)'. The head has been drawn over, in pen, with a full facial moko, and feather and ear adornment. The collar and front of his shirt has also been decorated.
