Somewhere in Cairo, protesters make placards demanding peace, democracy and an end to sexism. Gun shots are heard in the background. A woman protester appeals to the other workers to run to Tahrir Square.
Accompanying note from cartoonist states: '70 protesters have been shot dead by Egyptian security services. There is a crying need now for both sides to adopt three principles (they have forgotten).'
The three principles referred to are those of freedom, socialism and unity, as propounded in 1972 by Anwar Al-Sadat, with which a Middle East of justice and peace in co-operation could be reached.
