- Description
Bill English, holding a newspaper whose headline reads 'NZ Rich Listers get a whole lot richer!!!', claims that 'when trickle down kicks in, as it inevitably must, it will be a deluge...'
The publication in July 2013 of the wealth of the richest families in New Zealand revealed that over the year they had become even richer, while poverty in New Zealand was increasing. The Minister of Finance claimed that, according to the 'trickle down' theory, the poor must benefit from the increased wealth of the rich at some stage. This has yet to happen.
